The Enterprise, the official student publication of School of Business and Accountancy (SBA), bagged seven awards at the Gawad Plumang Anghel 2025, held on June 9 at the Peter G. Nepomuceno (PGN) caseroom.

Representatives from the publication managed to garner a total of four awards across individual categories. 

Dhessiel Heart Macapagal earned the 2025 Gawad Pagsulat ng Isports for her sports story titled “HAU Golden Guardians fail to protect home court advantage; 91-82 loss.”

In the opinion category, Betina Aquino and Chia Aikie Mercado each received Honorable Mention under the 2025 Gawad Pang-Opinyon for their respective pieces, “Beyond Rules and Feelings: The Human Choice” and “Influ-Enza: The Outbreak of Contagious Clout in Politics.”

Concluding the set of individual awardees, Boris Sebastian Lontabo also received an Honorable Mention in the 2025 Gawad sa Larangang Pampahayagan (Photography) category.

Meanwhile, Beatrice Eleonor Zepeda, Cyra Joyce Aguilar, and Mercado were recognized with an Honorable Mention under the 2025 Gawad Kritikal na Lente for their collaborative investigative piece, “Lost in the Mystery of the Retreat Haze.”

The Enterprise also brought home two major awards: the 2025 Gawad Pagsulat sa Editoryal for its entry, “Popped-off Potential: Leadership Lost at Sea,” and Gawad Lathala – Parangal sa Pinakamahusay na Lawrawan (Newspaper – Best in Photos).

The event further recognized external competition awardees from the Assumption Outstanding Campus Awards (AOCPA) held last January 27: Joaquin Raphael Villareal, 10th Most Outstanding Campus Journalist; Jancen Rosales, 1st Place Most Outstanding Literary Writer; and Alicia Abby Ann Ang, 7th Place Most Outstanding Feature Writer. 

Formerly known as the Student Journalism Awards (SJA), Gawad Plumang Anghel is an annual recognition program organized by the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) to honor outstanding achievements in campus journalism.

The categories included news, features,  literary, sports, opinion, investigative, layout, editorial cartooning, photojournalism, editorial, digital page, and most outstanding student publication. This year’s program marks the first time it was held in collaboration with the Holy Angel University Press Club (HPC).
