The Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants and Auditors – United Inc. (JPIAA-U) inaugurated its new term through its annual General Assembly on August 13, from 1:30 PM to 5:00 PM, at the University Theater of the San Francisco De Javier Nepomuceno (SFJ) Building.

With the theme “Celestial Echoes: Rising to the Call of Heavenly Realms,” the assembly marked the formal opening of the federation’s academic and non-academic year for its members, known as JAAns. 

In an exclusive interview with the organization’s President, Joemar Gancia shared that JPIAA-U planned this year’s theme, “Reviera: Paradigm of Excellence in Noble Pursuit and Illumined Wisdom,” in pursuit of their future initiatives.

For its 61st year, the federation intends to embody the vision of a new season through various programs and holistic objectives, stemming from the root words of the theme– “revival” and “era”.

Gancia also emphasized the importance of community engagement and announced plans to conduct and partner in outreach programs for the Pampanga community.

“For this year, we strive to make an impact and leave [a] legacy and to shape the people around us [into] well-rounded professionals and leaders,” he said.

Building on this, Vice President for Membership Chezka Gabarda and Associate Vice President for Membership Kathleen Gonzales reported several milestones for JPIAA-U in recent months.

Among them was winning 2nd place at the recent organizational festival, which they deemed as a “small but meaningful win”. 

However, they affirmed that the most notable achievement was maintaining their historic streak of reaching 1,000 members— a record first achieved last federation year.

Gabarda credited the Finance Department for securing a notable number of membership sponsors and partners, which she asserted not only enhanced the organization’s membership experience but also strengthened its long-term appeal.

“We believe that in order to maintain these, commitment to service with the student body is one. Having these would definitely have us maintain the momentum of doing what’s best for our members,” Gabarda shared.

During the event, two of the recent May 2025 Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE) passers, Mr. Robert Torres and Ms. Jianna Iral, delivered inspirational speeches. 

Their messages encompassed their experience with JPIAA-U as former elite officers, as well as encouraging words to the attendees who are aiming for the same achievement. 

Afterwards, Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) Angeles City Chapter President-Elect Mr. Mark Lester Pineda administered the oath of office to the executive and elite officers, formally inducting the federation’s leaders.

Other highlights included opening remarks from Gancia, a welcome address from Gonzales, a video message from the School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) Dean Dr. Carmelita Lao, and a remark from the organization’s adviser, Mr. Ednel Datu.

Further, the Department for Academic Affairs and the Department for Non-Academic Affairs outlined their General Plan of Activities (GPOA) for the year.

The program also featured an intermission performance, presentation of houses for the upcoming body meeting, and raffle draws before concluding with closing remarks from Gabarda.

The organization’s next event is the testimonial dinner, which will be on Saturday, August 16, while the much-anticipated 2025 Body Meeting is scheduled to take place on September 18 to 20.
