The School of Business and Accountancy (SBA) of Holy Angel University honored the success of the May 2025 Certified Public Accountants Licensure Examination (CPALE) passers with a testimonial dinner held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Immaculate Heart (IH) Gym.

With the theme “Lumière De Volonté: Championing the Passions and Ambitions in the Accounting Profession”, the event was organized in collaboration with the Junior Philippine Institute of Accountants and Auditors – United Inc. (JPIAA-U) under the supervision of Accountancy Department Chairperson, Mr. Michael Dela Peña.

The testimonial dinner celebrated the achievements of the newly licensed Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) while recognizing the perseverance and dedication that defined their journey.

Topnotchers were also honored, including Ms. Jianna Chelsea Iral, who ranked third, and Mr. Sean Garcia, who ranked 10th.

In her testimony, Iral recalled that she only had two months to prepare after the passing of her grandparent in March.

Mr. Garcia, along with Ms. Shejanira Arcilla, Ms. Christine Reigne Costas, and Ms. Princess Yvan Malig, also shared their testimonies during the program.

Ms. Miechell Bagang, one of the passers, shared her struggles in juggling both review sessions with graduate school and managing business in her testimony.

“I experience yung humahagulgol, because I’m so tired, because Monday to Sunday I’m doing something—like my brain is functioning at all. And kahit gusto mo na magpahinga, ‘yung hindi ko na [kaya], okay iyak ka lang. And then after an hour, okay balik ka na, mag-review ka na ulit or may assignment ka kailangan tapusin mo siya.”

Associate Dean Ms. Leah Manalang formally led the induction ceremony to welcome the new CPAs into the accounting profession.

SBA Dean Dr. Carmelita Lao, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Al Biag, and OIC President Mr. Leopoldo Valdes also delivered heartfelt messages of pride and encouragement to the passers.

SBA faculty, the College Student Council – SBA (CSC-SBA), The Enterprise, fifth-year accountancy students, and the passers’ guests attended the event.

The Testimonial Dinner was originally scheduled last July 26, but was postponed due to severe weather conditions.
